How did you get into mindfulness and why did you stick with it?
What role does mindfulness play in your life?

My first encounter with mindfulness was during my studies in Berlin in the 1990s. There, I was introduced to Ki no Kenkyukai Aikido by Helmut Vogler – a special form of Aikido that focuses on exploring and applying Ki, the life energy. The meditation and breathing exercises in this context were my first significant experiences with mindfulness practice.

A major turning point in my practice came in 2006 during a sabbatical in South America. Following an inner calling, I began regular meditation afterward. In the following years, I deepened my knowledge through self-study of various Buddhist meditation techniques and traditions.

With Alan Wallace, a renowned meditation teacher, I found the inspiration for my further path. In 2017, I completed my training as a Cultivating Emotional Balance (CEB) instructor. This allowed me to share my experience and offer mindfulness training, particularly for companies in the IT sector. In recent years, I have been fortunate to also learn from Tsoknyi Rinpoche, a Tibetan master who conveys traditional teachings in a particularly accessible way, integrating them with modern life.

What is your motivation/purpose for your work as a MOMENTUM trainer?

As a MOMENTUM trainer, I am particularly passionate about combining mindfulness with the modern working world. With nearly 30 years of experience in the technology industry, I understand the challenges of various sectors and see daily how essential emotional competence and inner clarity are in complex work environments.

My many years of meditation practice and practical experience in IT consulting have shown me that professional expertise and a mindful approach to work complement each other perfectly. As a certified mindfulness trainer, I can authentically convey this connection and offer practical tools for the modern workday.

My vision is to sustainably improve work quality within organizations. I want to help people maintain their inner balance despite high demands and constant change. The practice-oriented approach of the MOMENTUM program, combined with my extensive professional experience, builds a bridge between professional requirements and human well-being.

In your work as a MOMENTUM trainer, where do you see the most how important and effective mindfulness training is for companies?

The MOMENTUM program spans seven weeks and provides a comprehensive introduction to the theory and practice of mindfulness. Participants develop a regular mindfulness practice to deepen their understanding and sustainably integrate the learned concepts into their personalities. The result is a lasting transformation in personal experience and behavior, which positively impacts their quality of life, relationships with colleagues, and overall work quality.

Initially, participants benefit individually, as mindfulness training cultivates calmness, clarity, and goodwill in the mind. These qualities radiate to the team, enhancing the work atmosphere and overall work quality, ultimately benefiting the entire organization.

What do you think makes the MOMENTUM program unique?

The MOMENTUM program impresses me with its holistic approach, which seamlessly combines theory and practice. I appreciate the well-thought-out integration of digital support through the MOMENTUM app and personal guidance. The seven-week format is ideal for sustainably incorporating the proven exercises into daily professional life.

In my view, the expertise of the trainers, all of whom have solid business experience, is a key quality feature. The in-depth dyad work and buddy system create a valuable, protected space for personal exchange and mutual support.

What I find particularly compelling is how scientific insights are combined with practical mindfulness exercises to create a well-founded and applicable methodology for the workplace.
